I love swaps!

Making something with beautiful fabric and getting inspired for someone else is the greatest.
But I dread the part of signing up where they give you a little box and say
"Tell us a little bit about you so your partner will be able to make you something you'll love!"
In theory it all sounds great but then I look at that little box and have no idea what to say! Thank goodness for pictures and favorites because otherwise my boxes would over flow!

Here's what I would like to say in those tiny boxes. I love happy things. I love negative space

I love applique! I love piecing!
I love old things made new, in bright beautiful colors!

I love sketchy fun carefree drawings and I love my applique to feel the same!

I'm an artsy, modern, vintage, shabby chic, clean cut, happy kind of girl! I love kids and colors!
I love cartoon prints and sweet modern fairy tales!

I love large Swedish florals!

I love inspiration!

I love the amazing hand stitching on super old quilts! I love bold contrast and big prints!

I love embroidery and fussy cutting! I love red,

lime, apple,

turquoise,

aqua,

orange, tangerine, pink,

yellow, brown, white, gray! Aaaaah!
Hold on, I'm almost done!
I believe almost any color can be a neutral depending on how you use it!



Yeah, well it's a little hard to think of those things in the moment I have for signing up :) Not to mention it's a little confusing and contradictory. I mean really, "artsy, modern, vintage, shabby chic, clean cut, happy" but it's all true.
Oh, and gnomes :)

Simplified... in reverse!

I had to laugh the other day when I saw Camille's post Gray because at that very moment I had several cans of green and gray paint sitting in my kitchen to help me take a break from my sewing! And help me it did!
I painted the main portion of the walls this fantastic green and have a planned gray wall at the end of the kitchen, of course, I changed my mind on the color of gray after the first stripe! Oops! You can see some of my gray thoughts in the pic at the top *blush*
My favorite thing about the kitchen redo are these fantastic red pendant shades. That and the simplification that comes when you clear out a room and then have to decide what's going back in :)
Look I even found a place for my new hostess apron to hang and smile at me!So, even though I'm reverse of Camille I still love the combo of the gray and green colors! We can definitely say Camille Roskelley is inspiring on so many levels! And hey, check out the little birdie that will hopefully be living on my lovely green wall very soon. It's part of the fun color strips I showed you from my mini quilt retreat! It's been growing in design since we got home and I took a break from painting :)
