30 something and then some!

Hey, so, I'm all excited I stayed up late the other night and finished some projects! If you follow my twitter account you know I was off at the MSQC for the Friday night sew on the fourth! Sew much fun!

I decided to make myself a table runner for my birthday on the second, it's been a little rough on me, *whisper* I turned 30 this year.
So, I decided I had to do all sorts of fun stuff :)
Naturally my mind went to this table runner by mels own place. But in my head it was called turning 30, hehe. I wasn't about to make myself 42 (the actual number of included triangles) so I left some of the triangles out and used 28 if you count the halves it puts us around 32 which qualifies "Turning 30" in my book!
It came out really cute!
AND... I took some of the left over triangles and made myself a little string of pennants for the back!
If you look close you can see I free motioned it using a version of my signature vines!

I love it and I loved using some of this Fandango by Kate Spain... Love her!

Christmas leftovers... of the non-food variety

I love getting rid of Christmas leftovers! My counters are clean and now my sewing table! Almost, here's the story :)

I've had this top for a year now. My mom made it last year and decided she didn't want it... I do! I love the shades of red and green in this fabric! I'm pretty sure it's mostly a line, but I honestly don't know which one.Feel free to help me out here if you recognize any fabric!
I got it before Christmas last year and it's been sitting in my to-do box since then till the beginning of last month I was going to finish it and have it on my table for Christmas this year! Well I basted it and then it sat on my table waiting, again :)

I got up this morning and thought I'm gonna sew before my baby gets up! Well, what lay before me but the unfinished table topper...
Calling #3,655? ding! You're up!

It takes so little time to stipple a little topper! It makes me think, "Sheesh, why did that take so long?" Well, I finished that and went to get my binding and

I don't have any.

Dang.

Back to the box.

Poppies, Poppies!

It came!!!

This is the beautiful Spring Blooms quilt I received from blogless Debbie Mitchell.
I don't know how she knew it but I definitely have a thing for poppies!

...I guess really I have a thing for pretty much all flowers :)

But I do love the way she put them together! With the cute background blocks, the lime green and the extra texture stitching on the flower heads!

Favorite Tool... of the moment!

OK, so I got very excited a couple days ago when I discovered I had a walking foot! Who doesn't want to find that kind of treasure while looking through their piles and shelves filled with all things sewing!

Here it is!

I have been saying how I wish I had a walking foot for quite awhile now! I had no idea it was hiding tucked away in a drawer! I think it's pretty old, but I love it! So I got very excited, attached it to my machine, and couldn't stop smiling as my fabric went through so much more evenly! I'd been making Square in a Square blocks for the Quilt along and suddenly there was no left over edges all the measurements seemed suddenly perfect! It was amazing! Hehe!
